Official documents relating to prisoner transfer and compassionate release

The Scottish Government has today released the documents relating to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice's decision to refuse the Libyan Government's application for Abdelbaset Megrahi's transfer to Libya under the UK-Libya Prisoner Transfer Agreement, but to grant Mr Megahi's application for compassionate release. The documents (which do not include medical reports) can be read here.

The United Kingdom Government has also released relevant documents. Those emanating from the Department of Justice can be read here and those from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office here.

Analysis of the UK Government documents by Political Editor Philip Webster for The Times under the heading "Libya must have felt it was pushing at an open door" (later changed to "Gordon Brown's Lockerbie view is an explosive revelation") can be read here.

  1. MISSION LOCKERBIE:

The dropping of the successful promising "Lockerbie appeal" was the central part for the freedom of Mr. Abdelbaset Al Megrahi!

Behind the surprising release of the innocent Mr. Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, "did not stand a 'OEL DEAL' and not the ''Prisoner Transfer Agreement" with Libya, but the FEAR of Scotland's and Great Britain's, before the result of the current Appeals (miscarriage of justice) and the following damages compensation from Libya, up to 40 billion US$!

For this legal mission the secretary of Scottish Justiciary, Kenny MacAskill needed from Mr. Megrahi, the dropping of the successful promising "Lockerbie-appeal" and a medical certification over a maximum 3 monts life span.
The truth is: The "Lockerbie-Affair" (not the PanAm 103 tragedy) was a UK conspiracy against Libya!

Some of the Scottish Officials are the true criminals in the "Lockerbie Affair": Ex forensic scientist Dr Thomas Hayes (RARDE) UK, Ex forensic expert Allen Feraday (RARDE) UK and three known persons of the Scottish police are responsible for manipulating evidence in the Lockerbie Affair and are still protected by the Scottish Justice ! (They are not involved in the PanAm 103 bombing, but responsible for the conspiracy against Libya).
The large chance for Mr. Megrahi is coming to be cleared up with a complete investigation in the Lockerbie-Conspiracy against Libya. The honour of Mr. Megrahi and the prestige of Libya must be repaired finally. Libya and its Official Mr. Megrahi have nothing to do with the Lockerbie- tragedy!
The Scottish "Lockerbie-Trial" in Kamp van Zeist, was far from fair and proper!

  2. In the interest of disclosure the US government should follow suit and allow the disclosure of communications US officials had with Scotland prior to his release. Not only would that be inline with President Obama's campaign promise to keep an open government but assuming the US government took a hard stance in attempting to keep Megrahi in jail it may bring some comfort to the families of the victims who have been wrongly denied full justice by the Scottish government.

For additional information regarding the release of Mr. Megrahi please visit The American Principles Project blog at: http://www.americanprinciplesproject.org/blogs/tags/lockerbie-bomber/. An article written by Robert P. George, which appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer, highlighting the story of just one of the victims of the Lockerbie bombing can also be found at: http://www.americanprinciplesproject.org/topics/miscellaneous/298-robert-george-on-the-lockerbie-bomber.html

  4. I looked at the American Principals Website and the artcile by Robert George. I think it was absolutely dreadful what happened to his friend Valerie Canady. The lives of the 257 or 258 passengers and crew of PA103 were sacrificed to resolve the intractable problem of the "Vincennes Incident" and exploited by their own Government for other political objectives. I believe agencies of the US Government, in particular the CIA colluded in the bombing.
