A commentary on the case of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, convicted of the murder of 270 people in the Pan Am 103 disaster.
The timings look a little odd. From the AAIB report we know the actual explosion occurred at 0703, yet the report shows residents hearing noises and seeing "firey debris" at 1900 while a police patrol report an aircraft crash at 1903 - several minutes before any of the debris reached the ground. I suspect that the Fire brigade report may have got its timing wrong.
Somebody's watch was a few minutes slow? Or they just noted it was "about seven", as being good enough for government work?
