Lockerbie: "Tampered evidence"
The Ulrich Lumpert story is still bubbling quietly away in the background. Here is a link to an account by Olivier Schmidt that is more thoughtful than many: http://oraclesyndicate.twoday.net/stories/4418427/
I happened to find your blog through the Law School website. I was a student in your Evidence class; I forwarded the link to some of my (former) classmates and we are delighted to hear your distinctive voice - albeit 'blogified' but as ardent as ever - on the web.
This post is full of incorrect information. First, the timers made for the Libyan Government at their request were never sold to them but were given. The article says that Bollier testified at the trial at Camp Zeist as a defense witness although this too is not true. He was a prosecution witness. The article also states that the pieces of PT-35 (timer fragments) were at the FBI laboratory and this too is untrue. They have never been kept there. While some may find parts of this case to be "incredible," the situation regarding Lumpert and Bollier is difficult to change today. Lumpert and Bollier testified before a Swiss magistrate in 1990 and told US and Scottish investigators the same story in early 1991. It was consistent then but somehow, not so today. Mr. Bollier seems to have forgotten his trip to the US Embassy in Vienna in January 1989 when he tried to turn the direction of the investigation from the media reporting of the PFLP-GC cell in Germany to Libya-almost before any real investigation had been conducted.
It is NOT bubbling quietly away, YOU are promoting it and it is rubbish. You know it. Have you no shame.

Provide evidence that it's nonsense, and I'll post it here.
