Robert Fisk: Do you know the truth about Lockerbie?

This is the title of an article in The Independent in response to a very moving letter to Robert Fisk from the sister of one of those killed on Pan Am 103. In the letter she asks if there is anything at all that can be done, that has even a slight possibility of success, to discover the truth about who was responsible for the Lockerbie disaster. Robert Fisk's response is to say that there must be government officials, present or past, who know the truth about Lockerbie. He invites any such persons to communicate with him privately and, if his invitation should be construed as amounting to an incitement to those officials to breach the Official Secrets Act, then so be it. The relatives of the victims of Lockerbie deserve, after almost nineteen years, to know why their loved ones died and who was responsible, especially when this information is already in the hands of their government which, however, chooses not to divulge it.
