While Libya took responsibility for the bombing … Iran was actually responsible

[What follows is one paragraph from a long article headlined Iran and 9/11: Down the Rabbit Hole of Blame by Kristen Breitweiser, the widow of a 9/11 victim, published yesterday in Huffington Post:]

The 9/11 Families’ case against the Saudis has been dismissed at the trial level for a myriad of reasons, more recently, because the Kingdom was not a named State Sponsor of Terrorism. In case you didn’t already know this horrifying dirty little secret, for the most part, getting on and off the official State Sponsor List is mostly a political decision, having very little to do with reality—i.e. whether you really deserve to be on the list in the first place. And typically, you can get off the list by buying your way off, just as long as you are deemed “in favor” with the right people and/or Presidents at the right time. This is what happened with Pan Am Lockerbie and Libya, by the way. Notably, while Libya took responsibility for the bombing of Pan Am Lockerbie, more recent reports have shown that Iran was actually responsible for the terrorist attack.

Are our governments not providing true justice and fairness - instead we can expect political bias?

    This would be disappointing.
We have (press) freedom and democracy.
For this reason and others, we are the 'good guys'.

After thinking about ways to substantiate this claim, I came up with the following:
We look through the list of really _bad_ guys: convicted war criminals.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_convicted_war_criminals

See? Hundreds of names, and not a single American or Englishman, despite major involvement in wars around the globe.
    (
Neither on the list of defendants in the International Criminal Court
    https://www.icc-cpi.int/cases#Default=%7B%22k%22%3A%22%22%7D#2ae8b286-eb20-4b32-8076-17d2a9d9a00e=%7B%22k%22%3A%22%22%7D)
    )

Such a record of noble warfare takes nobleness and honesty among our young men, and by the governments who leads them!

And nobody should believe that we are simply unwilling to convict any of our own.
Names are simply missing on this list, but there is another list:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_people_convicted_of_war_crimes
OK, one of the names was a defector to nazi-Germany, so this is not really supporting our claim of unbiased seeking of justice.

But there are no less than two more: William Calley and Lynndie England. OK, we punished them more leniently than those on the other list, but still.

There is no list over British convicted war criminals. This is also not because of any sinister 'bias' somewhere, but because it would not make sense: only one British soldier has only been convicted, in 2007.

It follows that we our our side simply have a very strong will to do the right thing, and so claims of bias in findings by our governments simply must be false.

Ms. Breitweiser also writes: "And typically, you can get off the list by buying your way off ... Notably, while Libya took responsibility for the bombing of Pan Am Lockerbie..."

So, her claim must be that pressure (political, financial (the 30-bn-loss/year embargo), I assume) on Libya as the real reason for the famous 'taking responsibility for the action of its officials'.

I think it was simply Gaddaffi who just one day sat down and felt sorry about it all. "It was wrong, we shouldn't have done the Lockerbie bombing, where so many good people died. Let's do the right thing and admit to it, somehow, and get our conscience cleared".

So not all these negative attitudes towards ourselves. Positive thinking is all it takes. I am working on a belief that Megrahi actually did it. It is not easy but in the end everything will look much brighther, as my faith in our leaders and world can be restored, into what it once was when I was a happy young man.

  2. SM is "working on a belief" that Megrahi did it. Has SM read the trial transcript, examined the evidence, seen the police diary evidence not shown to the judges or defence, looked at the photocopies from the notebook of the chief forensic witness Allan Feraday?

A "belief" is not enough. If SM can state that he's read all of the section "The twenty-nine year lie" and can disprove what it contains, then his opinion should be accepted as honest and sincere.

    1. I'm afraid you've entirely missed SM's delicious irony, About us ...

SM is a long-standing and highly-knowledgeable supporter of Justice for Megrahi.

    2. Hi, About us!

Yes, I have - unfortunately - done all that. Read the trial transcript (which was the first thing I did. It started all my problems), seen the police diary evidence not shown to the judges or defence (wish I hadn't seen it either), looked at the photocopies from the notebook of the chief forensic witness Allan Feraday (I am sure there is a perfectly natural explanation), and even bought some books.

It does not help me that the Lockerbie case are without actively debating supporters of the official teory.

But accepting that we are living in a rotten society, where lies about critical matters - which includes the factual and political circumstances about Lockerbie and the consequences - is something I wouldn't want to face.

So, I will try to convert to my childhood faith about my world.
It will not be easy, but hope springs eternal.

      Wish me luck!

    3. If it's any comfort, I'd have fallen for it too if I hadn't read a lot of SM's other comments on this blog.

  3. since your talking about "rabbit holes" one that i went down in 2012 is starting to get LOTS of attention - it was relayed to me the MSM won't report the lockerbie issue BUT maybe they'll have to if its' connected to the URANIUM "deals"....

THANK YOU Professor for blogging almost daily about Lockerbie. Ppl in the CIA keep telling me people don't care about the Lockerbie Truth... i think they (the CIA) just doesn't want it told, like so MANY other untold truths.

  4. I was the only one invited to the closed door 911 hearings who could prove Iran knew about 911 in WRITING. The Austrian government did the investigation in 2002 and I was invited to the 911 commission in 2003. In 2004, I was hired by Saudi intelligence , questioned and deported. I have emails, business cards, documents, etc.
I was on the Lockerbie witness list and was traded away twice. My father-in-law was doing a coup attempt around the time to install the Shah's son(PanAm's largest shareholder was the Shah's family) and am willing to give info.

Mueller will not say who did 911 because he afraid that he will have to admit her clear Bin Laden in 2006-7 quietly

I have documents from Iran that will get everyone attention and see if you get it public.

on 911 , lockerbie and can probably shut down the Iranian govt; but will embarrass the UK, US, oil companies and Jewish groups. My wife's family help run Iran and Shell calls their shots

    1. I'll post material that you submit if I regard it as bona fide and relevant to the Lockerbie case. But that's as far as I'll go.

    2. on 911, first Bin Laden did it (in 2006, the FBI took him off the list of most wanted for 911), Saudis were let off the hook on deals made (2016, the Saudis are accused it), and I was invited and attended the 911 commission because , in writing, I could prove the Iranians knew the exact day of 911.

They all can't have done it.

On Lockerbie, the Iranians are now drilling in the North sea. My wife's cousin helped create the NIOC (Mahmood Hessaby - see wikipedia)

from the wikipedia National Iranian Oil Commpany
'..... Iran owns 50% of the offshore gas field of Rhum in the North Sea, which is Britain's largest untapped gas field. It is a joint-venture with BP worth ...'

In court in the Netherlands, a fake Lawyer said in court 'My wife would get her inheritance if the Husband just would shut up on Lockerbie'

She lost her inheritance and the son of the guy who created the NIOC stole my father-in-laws money to create the Hessaby Foundation in Iran and LONDON

As Mr Black believes Iran did it, it looks like the Iranians were rewarded.
