New questions about the Lockerbie bombing

[This is the headline (translated into English) over an article published yesterday on the website of the Weser Kurier about a documentary broadcast last night on the ARTE channel. It reads (in translation) as follows:]

A new documentary about the Lockerbie bombing addresses the question of whether in the investigation of the terrorist act important evidence was disregarded.

It was one of the most terrible events of the civil aviation history: on 21 December 1998, a bomb destroyed a US plane in Scottish airspace. 270 people died in the terrorist attack near the town of Lockerbie. 25 years later the elucidation of the crime has not yet been satisfactorily completed. One thing is certain: the Libyan secret agent Abdelbasset Megrahi was the only person convicted in court. But criticism of the decision soon followed. There is grave suspicion that legally relevant evidence was hushed up: a Scottish Commission has spoken of a "possible miscarriage of justice." The ARTE documentary Death Flight Pan Am 103 by Jean Christoph Caron and Carl Ludwig Paeschke, which was co-produced by ZDF and can now be seen in the German premiere, followed the latest tracks and tried to shine light into the thicket.

[Further details about the documentary can be found in this article, which contains the following passage (in translation):]

The documentary takes stock and poses new questions: Was the convicted Libyan Megrahi only a pawn in a world political game played by Western intelligence agencies and governments? Are there new findings that undermine the Libya-thesis of the British and Americans?  The producers have consulted a variety of experts and conducted interviews with witnesses. On the trail of the "mystery of Lockerbie" the producers talked with people who have been silent for years, and their statements are not indicative of Libyan responsibility or backing, but that of pawns of Iran - a track that has been greatly neglected by the official investigators.

[The programme is to be broadcast again on the ARTE channel on 18 February at 22.35 CET and on 21 February at 10.15 CET.]

  1. Goodness, is that Blücher I see on the horizon? Not before time. Even a little movement from Berlin on this affair could make a significant enhancement to that of Valletta's input. Ultimately, the real graft has to be done in Scotland but support from Germany would be most reassuring.

  2. MISSION LIFE WITH LOCKERBIE, 2014 -- Go on ground to new facts...
    Sorry, for legal reasons (misinterpretations) only in German language

    Das wichtigste Beweisstück, ein MST-13 Timerfragment (PT/35) das zur Verurteilung des libyschen Offiziellen, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi und Libyen führte, war gefälscht.
    Durch kürzliche Einsichtnahme in vertrauliche "CH-Bundesakten", kann daraus folgendes abgeleitet werden:

    Der Schweizerischen
    "Überwachungsstelle", teilweise auch zusammen mit "BUPO", waren offensichtlich über sämtliche Tätigkeiten von und um MEBO AG, u.a. durch "Maulwürfe" (Spies), Telefon-, Telex-, Fax- und Post-Überwachung, seit 1969, bis heute bekannt.

    Zum Beispiel:
    Entwicklung von digitalen Sprachverschlüssler für den damaligen Ostdeutschen Staatssicherheitsdienst (STASI);
    Entwicklung von Timer (MST-13) für das Militärprocurement des Gadhafi Regime.
    1985 die Lieferung von 2 Stück, der ersten Muster MST-13 Timer (Prototyp), nach Ostberlin zu "STASI";
    Lieferung 1995-96 von 20 Stück MST-13 Timer nach Libyen, usw...

    Bereits am 24./25. Mai 1989, trafen sich Schottische und Schweizer Ermittler in Bern. Im Protokoll sind die Parallelen der Katastrophen von 'PanAm 103', über Lockerbie und der 'SwissAir Flug 330', über Würenlingen - aufgelistet.

    Die "Materie" kreiste damals nicht um das Gadhafi Regime, sondern um die "Bombenbauer", u.a. Marwan Khreesat, von der "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, General Command" (PFLP-GC) etc.

    Aufklärung:
    Abgestützt durch Einsicht in ein Abhörprotokoll der Schweizerischen Bundesanwaltschaft und Eng. Ulrich Lumpert (ex. MEBO AG), vom 23. Mai 1991, enthüllt, dass Eng. Lumpert 10 Stück "MST-13 Printpatten" (circuit boards) von Thüring weggeworfen hatte.

    Frage: Wieso wurde am 22. Juni 1989, von einem CH-Beamten (Official) bei Eng. Lumpert, nicht eine nach Libyen gelieferte Thüring "MST-13 Timer Platine" in Besitz genommen, sondern durch Eng. Lumpert, eine nochmals von Hand erstellte "MST-13 Timer Platine" ?
    Davon kann mit grosser Wahrscheinlichkeit abgeleitet werden, dass die Schweizer Untersuchungsbehörden, anfänglich offensichtlich die (PFLP-GC) für das 'PanAm 103 Attentat' im Fokus hatte - und später, vermutlich auf westlichen Druck - den Link nach dem Gadhafi Regime hin "korrigieren" musste...

  3. Over the decade of campaigning for Shirley we used the words of Robert Burns as our battle cry.

    On the anniversary of his birth it seems appropriate to repeat these words and highlight how applicable they are to the present struggle to have the truth behind the tragedy of Lockerbie revealed.

    ‘There's nane ever fear'd that the truth should be heard,
    But they whom the truth would indite.’
